Cutthroat Trout
Scientific name: Oncorhynchus clarkii
There are as many as fourteen native subspecies of cutthroat trout throughout the Western United States. They have highly variable spotting and coloration patterns and get their name from the red or orange " slashes" on the under side of their lower jaw.
Along with kokanee, we fish for the westslope subspecies of cutthroat at Lake Chelan and they can provide extremely fast and furious action!
